Huawei continues to expand its product lineup, and the Chinese brand has been working on the Mate XT 2 model for some time now. Recent reports have shed light on key questions surrounding the launch of the foldable phone.
When will the Huawei Mate XT 2 be unveiled?
Various reports suggest that Huawei is developing a new Mate XT series tri-fold smartphone. According to the latest information, the Huawei Mate XT 2 is expected to be introduced in the second half of the year. Reliable industry insider Smart Pikachu claims that the launch is scheduled for September.
According to the source, the foldable phone is currently undergoing internal testing and will feature satellite connectivity. This functionality is designed for emergency messaging or limited internet access in remote areas — a feature that has also been seen in Huawei’s recent flagship phones and some Apple models.
Leaks indicate that the Huawei Mate XT 2 will launch with upgrades in its chipset, camera system, and connectivity features. The device is also said to feature ultra-flexible glass (UFG) technology, which aims to improve screen durability.
The first-generation Mate XT, introduced in September last year, came with a large 10.2-inch display and a slim 3.6 mm thickness. It offered a triple camera setup (50 MP + 13 MP + periscope lens), 16 GB of RAM, and up to 1 TB of storage. Reportedly, the model sold over 400,000 units.
